Dr. Richard Scarborough joined our staff in July 2020 following residency (AP/CP Pathology) and fellowship training (Dermatopathology) at Cleveland Clinic. His prior education includes and bachelor of science degree from Davidson College (Chemistry), a masters in anatomy (Ohio State), doctor of osteopathy (Ohio University), and a traditional (medical) rotating internship (Firelands Regional Medical Center).
His roots at Affiliated Dermatology were firmly planted in his teenage years– stuffing envelopes and doing odd jobs. During graduate school he worked in the pathology lab and in Mohs surgery, which fueled his passion for both pathology and dermatology. While at Cleveland Clinic his interests were in pigmented lesions, specifically fluorescent in situ hybridization and its role in diagnosing Spitz tumors and melanoma. Other interests include vascular tumors, specifically symplastic hemangioma. He has interest in inflammatory diseases. If he is not at the office, he is likely hiking, running, biking, golfing and/or playing with his two young children. |
